A big year ahead for UK capital markets policy

The government is roughly a third of the way through its current term and this event will be an opportunity to discuss the progress made over the past 18 months on the reform of banking, finance, and capital markets; to share the different perspectives from different sectors of the industry; and to look ahead to a what is lining up to be a big year for UK capital markets policy.

Specific areas of discussion are likely to include:

• Reflecting on the budget three months on

• Progress over the past year on the Edinburgh and Leeds Reforms

• International competitiveness and regulatory reform

• UK pensions and UK capital markets

• Retail participation (including ISA reform)

• Relations with the EU and other markets in financial services

We expect participants to be a combination of policy specialists and government officials with a focus on the UK.
