EU capital markets benchmarking report launch
14 October 2026
EU capital markets

With the debate on the reform of capital markets in the EU moving to an implementation phase, this year we will zoom in on some of the trade-offs that member states will have to accept to implement reforms at the national level but also to harmonise and integrate at the European level.
Confirmed speakers at the event include (with more to be announced):
Astrid Cousin – Director of horizontal policies at DG FISMA, European Commission
Luca Filippa – Director general of CONSOB
Jimmy Kvarnström – Executive director of markets at the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen)
Our research will measure the evolution, size and depth of capital markets in every EU member state and across the EU on more than 30 metrics, and outline progress on the savings and investments union. We will also take a step back and analyse EU capital markets in a global context over the past five and 10 years.
We expect participants to be a combination of government officials, regulators, policy specialists, and market practitioners from across Europe.
As usual, it will be a moderated discussion held under the Chatham House rule, and we will circulate a thematic summary after the event.
