Focus on Black inclusion – where are we now?

In May 2020, Black inclusion was at the top of the agenda in the wake of the murder of George Floyd. Five years on, much has changed, and there have been both progress and challenges. In this session we will discuss where the UK financial services industry is now on Black inclusion, with particular reference to progress on the key actions points from New Financial’s 2021 Accelerating Black Inclusion research (p20) and what we expect success to look like (p22). This will be the first in a series of events on Black inclusion which will feed into a New Financial paper later in the year.

This session will be an opportunity to share views, challenges and insights, as well as hear from peers. The format of the session will be informal discussion moderated under the Chatham House rule and chaired by Yasmine Chinwala, Partner at New Financial.
