In-person event with Helene von Bismarck

18 June 2026

EU capital markets, UK capital markets

Helene is a renowned Anglophile historian, author, and political commentator based in Germany, will join us to discuss themes from her book which is set to be published on the day of the event (guests will receive a copy of the book). The book is Helene’s attempt to make sense of the often contradictory culture, history and politics of country in which she has lived, worked, and studied.

While this event is not specifically about capital markets it will be a fascinating discussion for anyone interested in EU / UK relations and in how the rest of the world thinks about the UK (particularly, perhaps non-British nationals). And at a time when we can all get sucked into the melodrama of Westminster politics, Helene will provide a valuable and more detached perspective.

We expect participants to be a combination of policy specialists in our member and government network with a particular interest in UK / EU affairs and in international relations. About Helene von Bismarck:
