In-person research workshop on reforming ISAs
8 May 2025
UK capital markets

The government is keen to encourage wider retail participation in investment and ISA reform is firmly on the agenda with a review underway. This review could lead to proposals to simplify ISAs and potentially cap the amount of money that individuals are able to put into cash ISAs.
This discussion will feed into a forthcoming paper by New Financial on reforming ISAs and is likely to include:
The complexity of the current ISA structure
The case for ISA simplification
The pros and cons of capping cash ISAs
The debate on mandating asset allocation in ISAs
We expect participants to be policy specialists and front-line practitioners from retail banks, platforms, and asset managers with a strong retail client base.
