PR & comms workshop on ‘The social & economic value of finance’
25 January 2024
UK capital markets

A private and informal PR & comms in person workshop hosted by New Financial on Thursday 25th January to discuss our report on ‘The social & economic value of finance’.
The report is part of our work over the years on ‘how (not) to talk about banking and finance’ and developing a ‘new narrative’ for the industry that focuses less on big, headline, abstract numbers and more on the industry’s day job in supporting investment in growth and jobs in every corner of the UK.
The report drills behind the headline numbers at Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC) to measure and map the regional footprint and concrete impact of its day-to-day activities in every region of the UK.
The report includes 10 questions for other firms across the industry to help them think about the social and economic value of their business – and we hope it encourages other firms in banking and finance to think differently about how they talk about their business and how to better connect with wider society and with politicians.
We expect participants will be specialists in PR and comms, public affairs, corporate affairs from across the capital markets.
