The challenges to transition finance

Our upcoming paper frames the current challenges to transition finance and provides recommendations for how to engage with hard-to-abate energy companies.

A major finding of our report is that while the energy sector is progressing along when it comes to green and transition finance, the most carbon-intensive parts of the sector – and the largest contributors of carbon emissions within the energy sector – are not mobilising the finance necessary to accelerate the transition to net-zero.

During these workshop meetings, we will hear the experience from the asset management and investment banking sectors and discuss how we can move the dial on transition finance and help energy companies – particularly oil and gas – achieve their net-zero goals.
