The E6 group and the reform of capital markets in the EU

6 July 2026

EU capital markets

The E6 – an informal alliance of Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and Poland – want to make the development of capital markets in the EU an urgent priority. The six largest EU economies account for 70% of all capital markets activity in the EU and are a significant force in this debate. Two weeks ago, in Berlin the E6 presented their common position on the integration of European capital markets.

At this event we will discuss why the E6 matter in the debate on the reform of capital markets in the EU, what the E6 want to achieve, and what the feedback on their proposals has been so far with:

  • Christophe Bories – head of the financial sector department at the French Treasury (DG Trésor)

With more speakers to be announced.

We expect participants to be a combination of government officials and policymakers from across Europe, and senior executives and policy specialists from across the financial services industry. We invite participants to ask questions during the event.
