The role of governance in driving growth with Richard Moriarty, FRC

28 April 2026

UK capital markets

This event will be an opportunity to discuss the future of the UK corporate governance and stewardship framework over a working lunch.

Richard is very high energy and this event will be an opportunity to hear from him on the big changes in the FRC’s approach over the past few years, the changes to the corporate governance code in the context of the wider competitiveness and growth agenda, and the role all of this can play in injecting more dynamism into UK equity markets. It should be equally fascinating for buyside and sellside alike. In case you missed it, he recently wrote a good column in the FT.

The discussion will include:

  • The change in tone and direction at the FRC

  • How the FRC thinks about its role in the context of growth and competitiveness

  • The changes to the corporate governance code

  • The evolution of the stewardship code

  • How the FRC’s work fits in with the wider regulatory reform agenda

  • The international context

We expect participants to be a combination of policy and regulation specialists, governance and stewardship specialists, and a handful of government officials and policymakers.
